2010 Mill Creek Festival

One very cool event that occurs each summer is the Mill Creek Festival. The festival is an excellent place for families to go and reconnect with the community. There is a large booth area that is set up for local businesses to promote themselves and generate awareness about their products and services. Food is plentiful and there are a number of family friendly attractions that are very kid friendly. Attendance last year was well over 20,000 and so the festival is a very big draw. Last night at Mill Creek City Hall the Mill Creek Business Association (MCBA) met to begin planning the festival for 2010. Present were sponsors, business owners and city council members. The most refreshing thing that I heard and felt is the number of people who genuinely care about Mill Creek and the festival. The passion was clearly evident. I walked away feeling very good knowing just how much positive energy exists in our community. I like the fact that there are people looking out for the rest of us in the community. The ideas that were pouring out and minute details that people were thinking of lead me to believe that the 2010 festival will be simply excellent! There may be some changes that might occur in 2010, but that is because the festival attendance has grown so large that some adjustments might be needed to support its overwhelming success. It’s a very big job to put together such a large festival and like everything that grows in its success, new adaptations must be made to support it. More later.
